Police Reports for the week of November 12 2017



Sunday, November 12

8:00 a.m. - To E. Franklin St. for a report of criminal damaging. There are no suspects.

4:39 p.m. - An officer found a key in the gate lock at a business on Dye Mill Rd. The key was submitted into property.

7:27 p.m. - Traffic stop on Dorset at McKaig. The driver was the only occupant and had a temporary instruction permit. The driver was cited for the stop sign violation and license violation. The vehicle was towed.


Monday, November 13

5:22 a.m. - To Dye Mill Rd. for a report of trespassing. Officers found a man asleep in a vehicle on private property. The man was charged with trespassing and taken to the Miami County Jail.

10:20 a.m. - Traffic stop on Robinhood Ln. at Shaftsbury Rd. A citation was issued.

10:57 a.m. - Traffic stop on Dorset at Main. A citation was issued.

3:74 p.m. - To N. Madison St. for a report of a theft. An individual reported that a PlayStation 4 was stolen from the residence. Several possible suspects were named.

4:03 p.m. - Officers received information that a wanted person was living at the Stouder Center. The woman was located and arrested on the warrant.

5:34 p.m. - To Meadow Ln. for a report of a hit-skip crash that occurred in the 2000 block of W. Main St.


Tuesday, November 14

2:30 a.m. - While in the Kroger parking lot, an officer saw a man who had an active warrant. The man was taken to the Miami County Jail.

9:49 a.m. - To Meadow Ln. for a parking complaint. An officer found a blue Saturn with expired registration parked on the street. A citation was issued.

2:51 p.m. - To N. Market St. for a report of a found item. An individual reported finding a credit card at a business. The officer recovered the card, searched for the owner's address and returned the card to the owner.

3:22 p.m. - Traffic stop on W. Main at Cherry. The vehicle had run a red light on N. Market St. The driver was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

5:08 p.m. - To Ash St. for a hit-skip accident. The vehicle responsible was located and a report was taken.

7:07 p.m. - Traffic stop on Main at Monroe. The driver was cited.

9:05 p.m. - To Stonyridge Ave. for a report of a disturbance. One individual was transported to UVMC.


Wednesday, November 15

12:14 a.m. - To S. Clay St. to assist Troy Fire Dept. The officers made sure all occupants were out of the building and provided scene security for the Fire Dept.

3:47 p.m. - To S. Ridge Ave. for a report of a suspicious person. A male was arrested on a warrant and issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

8:13 p.m. - To Drury Lane for a report of a domestic disturbance. One individual was arrested for violating a protection order.

11:40 p.m. - To Terrace Pl. for a report of a suspicious person. An unfamiliar vehicle was reported to be in the alley blocking traffic. The RP reported that two subjects went to a known drug house in the area. The officer located the vehicle and found that the plates belinged to another vehicle. He initiated a traffic stop. Drugs and paraphernalia were located and subjects were issued citations for various offenses.


Thursday, November 16

11:00 a.m. - To Troy High School for a report of a bomb threat. A threat was found on paper on the second floor. A suspectg was found and admitted to writing the note.

1:18 p.m. - To Barnhart and Fenner Roads for a report of a three vehicle accident.

2:22 p.m. - A Stonyridge Ave. woman came to the Police Station to report her ex-boyfriend and father of her child for phone harassment. The boyfriend was called and warned.

4:30 p.m. - Traffic stop on Staunton Rd. near Meadow Ln. The driver was cited for speed and for driving under suspension.

5:37 p.m. - Traffic stop on N. Market St. The driver was cited for speed (48/35).

5:53 p.m. - To W. Main at Elm for a report of a hit-skip accident. A westbound Volkswagen changed lanes from the left lane to the right lane. As the driver changed lanes, his vehicle was struck by a lime green hatchback vehicle. The driver said that the hatchback ran onto the sidewalk, then continued westbound on Main St. The VW sustained damage to the righ tfront fender. The area was searched for the hatchback, but it was not located.

6:32 p.m. - To North Rd. for a report of a disturbance.

6:50 p.m. - Traffic stop on W. Main near Norwich. The driver was cited for expired plates.

7:10 p.m. - To Dartmouth Rd. for a report of a disturbance.


Friday, November 17

12:12 a.m. - To Speedway on W. Market St. for a report of a theft. The suspect vehicle was located and stopped. A suspect was arrested for theft and for possession of drug abuse instruments. The driver was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

2:27 a.m. - Traffic stop on W. Main near S. Plum. The driver was found to have a Revoked out of state Drivers License and issued a Citation.

10:36 a.m. - To S. Clay St. for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported receiving harassing text messages from "FBI." They were found to be a scam.

3:45 p.m. - Traffic stop on W. Main St. the driver was cited for expired registration.

5:19 p.m. - Traffic stop on Main at Cedar. The driver was the only occupant and had a temporary permit and the plates on the vehicle were expired. The driver was cited for expired plates and permit violation. He was also warned that continued operation could result in vehicle impoundment.

6:28 p.m. - To W. Main and Troy Town Dr. for a report of an accident. The driver of a Honda CRV said he was sitting at the light when the turn arrow turned green, and a Honda Accord hit him from behind. He said he was not in the turn lane. The driver of the Accord said that she saw the green light and thought it was for everyone to go. She said he hit her gas and struck the CRV. Both vehicles had slight damage and there were no injuries. The Honda driver was cited for Assured Clear Distance.

7:28 p.m. - Traffic stop on W. Market St. An officer saw a vehicle run the red light at Grant St. The driver was charged with running the red light and for several drug charges.

7:39 p.m. - To the 1200 block of Stephenson Dr. for a report of a hit/skip accident. The officer arrived and found that it was not hit/skip. A Jeep had struck a parked car. The driver of the Jeep was cited for reckless operation.


Saturday, November 18

12:54 a.m. - Adeputy saw a vehicle driving with no headlights on. The driver was cited.

1:46 a.m. - To Washington Rd. at Meadowpoint Dr. for a report of a crash. The officer arrived to find a pickup truck pinned directly to a tree on the driver's side door. The driver was bleeding from the head and his legs were pinned between the seat and the driver's door. The officer went to the passenger door but found it locked. He asked the driver to unlock it, but he was unable to do so. The officer broke the passenger window for Troy FD who arrived on the scene. A deputy arrived and took charge.

10:33 a.m. - To S. Cherry St. for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that her tires and her neighbor's tires had been slashed. The officer checked the area, and those were the only two vehicles involved. There are no suspects.

12:02 p.m. - To Long St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, the suspect was gone and the victim wanted to pursue charges. Suspect was charged with domestic violence and protection order violation.

9:00 p.m. - Traffic stop on Main at Monroe. The vehicle had expired plates, and the driver was so cited.
